What’s Sanjay Bangar’s prediction for Virat Kohli’s captaincy?
Virat Kohli is the most successful captain in the history of Indian Test cricket. In his captaincy, India did what once seemed impossible, beating Australia in Australia in a Test series. And then when he was away on Father duties on India’s latest tour to Australia, his team managed to beat the Aussies once again – this time under his deputy Ajinkya Rahane.
The victory could be possible due to a culture so carefully curated and nurtured by India’s one of most charismatic skippers.
Despite all that he has achieved as the captain of the Indian team, including a shift in the mindset that risks everything for a win, Virat is often under the scanner of distractors looking for an ICC Trophy in his cabinet.
But former India cricketer and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s batting consultant Sanjay Bangar believes that Virat Kohli will end up captaining more games than any other captain in the history of the game.
“If as leaders, you have the opportunity to actually dictate the way the culture of the team is and the outcomes that the team derives, then, in that case, all of them (nominees) were in quest of excellence. So is Virat, I do not doubt that he'll end up being probably captaining more than any other captain in the history of the game,” Bangar said in Star Sports’ show ‘Cricket Live.’
