The Australian summer is going to witness the clash of titans. Team India are set to play three ODIs, three T20Is and four Tests against the Aussies.

In a media interaction, Australia’s limited-overs wicketkeeper Alex Carey spoke about the fierce bowling arsenal of India and how the hosts can give them a tough competition.

“We understand how good Bumrah and Shami are but we also understand how good and quality players we have in the Australian side,” Alex Carey told during the media interaction.

When India takes on Australia it is certainly going to be the best versus the best

“David Warner and Aaron Finch at the top have had some success against the Indian seamers. We’ll discuss Bumrah and Shami... also Chahal and Jadeja and all the Indian bowlers but I’m also very excited about seeing Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc run in. We’ve got Adam Zampa and Josh Hazlewood too,” the 29-year-old said.

“When you line-up both teams head to head you’ve got some serious players. We have regular meetings on what our strengths are and the areas that maybe we are exposed. India have got some real strength in the bowling department It should really lead to an exciting game one,” he added.

The History

In the previous two occasions when India toured Australia, the visitors have had the upper hand.

  • 2016-17: India won the Border-Gavaskar Test Series by 2-1
  • 2018-19: India won the Border-Gavaskar Test Series by 2-1

The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli will return to India after the first test match, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will lead the side for the remainder of the series.

Everyone will certainly be looking forward to the most awaited series

“Personally we are so excited to kick off this summer against India. We’ve some really good contests in the past both in the white ball and Test cricket. We are preparing hard so hopefully, it will be a really enjoyable summer of cricket,” Carey said.
