Totally unfazed by almost anything – Mo Bobat on Rajat Patidar’s approach as a captain

Rajat Patidar’s journey at RCB has been nothing short of a fairytale. In 2022, he came on as an injury replacement for Luvnith Sisodia and ever since then he has only grown from strength to strength. Reaping rewards of what has been an incredible run, Patidar earned the captaincy role ahead of IPL 2025 and he landed two back-to-back titles for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Talking on the first episode of RCB’s Trophy Quest: The Second Act, RCB’s Director of Cricket, Mo Bobat opened up on how Rajat has been absolutely instrumental for the Royal Challengers. He also described the qualities that make Patidar a standout performer amidst the crowd.

Highlighting Patidar’s brilliance, Bobat said, “Rajat has been a pleasure to work with. He's a very unique person. I don't think I know anybody like him. Totally unfazed by almost anything that he encounters. Been totally unaffected by getting the RCB captaincy whatsoever. Like you just wouldn't know it. Incredible humility as a man.”

Underlining the incredible qualities of Patidar, Bobat added, “Who would have thought maybe what RCB needed was an uber calm, ice cool captain. But he's been brilliant. I've really respected the way he's carried himself as a person. He's a very good man. So I thought, I think when your captain has those sorts of values and that level of integrity, I think that's a really good, it's good role modelling for the rest of the environment.”
