The top order is a trick we need to fix: Faf du Plessis
There will be a lot to discuss in the RCB dressing room after their second consecutive defeat. In a low-scoring encounter, the batters couldn’t really gather the steam that one would expect and they fell short of the total by 29 runs in the end.
The RCB skipper, Faf opened up about what exactly unfolded in the middle as he spoke at length in the post-match conference. Faf first shed light upon the fact that how the top-order conundrum has been marring RCB’s chances. “It's pretty similar to the previous game. If you hit the deck hard in the first few overs, it is hard to get away. The dropped chance cost us. The top order is a trick we need to fix,” he said.
He also talked about a fix that can see RCB return to winnings ways, saying, “You need someone in the top four to bat through and we haven't done that consistently. We tried changing the batting lineup today and we feel that they can try playing positively.”
The RCB captain finally concluded by talking about Virat Kohli. “Can't go into a shell. (On Kohli) Great players go through phases like this and we wanted to get him in the game straight away so that he doesn't sit on the sidelines and think about the game. It's a game of confidence.”
The Challengers will be up against the formidable Titans in their forthcoming encounter which will be their first afternoon contest of the ongoing season. With the current imperious form that the Titans are in the middle of, it won’t be an easy assignment for the Challengers.
