High-flying Sunrisers take on indomitable Gujarat Titans

In a high-flying tale of two resonating juggernauts, an insuperable Gujarat Titans will be facing off the Sunrisers Hyderabad who are now on a five-match winning streak. Call it a no-holds-barred bout under the shiny lights of the Wankhede if you want but the team that will be walking out with the bragging rights will be the favorites for the top 2 race.

The Gujarat Titans have simply seemed indomitable as they successfully defended a modest 156 against the Kolkata Knight Riders in their last game with the bowlers squeezing their hearts out. In what one would bill as the perfect cricketing unit, for the Titans instead of this being a showdown of individual brilliance, the entire team has come together to build an impressive legacy in their very first appearance itself.

Coming to the Sunrisers, they had a slow start to their campaign as they went down to the Rajasthan Royals and the Lucknow Super Giants in their two opening encounters. However, Kane Williamson has managed to rally his forces and win five games on the trot, belting out one masterclass after the other.

The Orange Army will be brimming with confidence as they took down a formidable Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last game and they did it quite convincingly. Their bowling unit has been in terrific shape that has been spearheaded efficiently by the fast-bowling triptych of Natarajan, Jansen, and Umran Malik.

This will be a collision of two titanic forces where both sides are very well-balanced and the unique distribution of strength across the various departments that each of them has shown, intensifies the ambiance that would be surrounding Wankhede.

Venue Watch:

Wankhede has always been kind to the batters and the tradition would continue when two very well-oiled batting units will be coming face to face. The last game that was played at this stadium starred the Punjab Kings and the Chennai Super Kings where both the teams put up a fine show with the bat. The team batting second will have a slight advantage as dew will play an important role but other than that, Wankhede has already proven that a decent total on the cards is capable of being defended.
