On another sad night for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, the batting unit couldn’t gather the much-needed momentum that could have seen them secure their sixth win of the season. Despite Faf du Plessis' and Shahbaz’s resolute display in the middle, there was very little that the Challengers could have done to chase down the modest number on the cards. Despite the fiasco that the batting unit went through, their bowling was right up to the top as they tormented the Royals' pecking order vehemently.

Let us quickly enlist the top three performers for RCB against RR, as the race for the play-offs gets hotter with every passing game.

1. Josh Hazlewood

The Australian quick has proven himself to be an absolute menace with the cherry in his arms and his brilliant bowling once again saw him leaving the Royals in a bout of agony and torment. He produced figures of 4-1-19-2 as he bagged the all-important scalps of Jos Buttler and Daryl Mitchell, particularly when the latter started looking dangerous.

2. Mohammed Siraj

The Hyderabadi fast-bowler came back all guns blazing after a pretty reticent start and his performances against the Rajasthan Royals would prove how mature he has been. He went for a few runs early in the spell for sure but he came back strongly with a couple of peaches that would claim the big fish of Devdutt Padikkal and a menacing Ravichandra Ashwin who was already threatening to take the game away from the Challengers.

3. Wanindu Hasaranga

The Sri Lankan leggie was back to his scintillating self even though it took him some time to get back to the fold. Hasaranga managed to eke out priceless turn that saw him claiming the important scalps of Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer. Samson’s wicket came with a fine delivery that drifted an inch to kiss his timbre while for Hetmyer it was the additional spin that saw him miscuing his effort.
