On an enchanting Wednesday at the Chinnaswamy, Virat Kohli was into his elements as he scored a magnificent hundred which included 12 fours and 8 sixes with a strike rate of 226. In reply to RCB's total, KXIP chasing a total of 212 runs needed a Herculean effort to achieve the target. Our very own, Yuzvendra Chahal finished with a four-wicket haul against a potent KXIP batting line-up which included the likes of Hashim Amla, Murali Vijay, and David Miller. To date, this happens to be one of the best bowling figures for the Haryana born leggie.
27th March 2019: Royal Challengers Bangalore v Mumbai Indians
It was our first home fixture of the 2019 edition of the IPL. The Challengers went head-to-head against the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai unit. MI openers Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock provided a brisk start and things looked a bit difficult for the RCB bowling unit. Things changed when Virat Kohli handed the ball to his go-to man Yuzvendra Chahal. The 29-year-old leggie proved to be the breakthrough provider as he sent Quinton de Kock (23) and Suryakumar Yadav (38) back into the hut. He scalped wickets at regular intervals which dented the MI batting line-up who were well on their way to reach the 220 run-mark. This was the second instance where the leg spinner finished with a four-wicket haul. However, Chahal's strong show [4-38-4] in the first innings went in vain as Mumbai held their nerve and came out on top with the narrowest of margins.
With 100 IPL wickets under his kitty, seasoned campaigner Yuzvendra Chahal is all geared up to help the Challengers end the long-awaited quest of winning the silverware. We can’t wait to see Yuzvendra Chahal making the batsman dance to his tunes.
