The roadmap ahead for India to qualify for the World Test Championship Final
After scripting a historic win at The Gabba, Team India leapfrogged Australia to secure the numero uno position in the WTC rankings. India's fairytale Test series win against Australia now means they are the frontrunners to book a spot in the World Test Championship Final.
Australia, who were sitting pretty at the top of the table before the series, have now slipped to the third position. The recent series loss to India has put their chances in jeopardy.

Here's how India can seal their spot in the World Test Championship Final
India are currently ranked first with a point percentage of 71.7 closely followed by New Zealand. In order to stay ahead of Kiwis' points percentage (70.00), India needs 80 points in the upcoming four-match Test series against England at home.
If the hosts end up losing one test in the series, they will need to win a total of three matches to consolidate their top spot in the WTC rankings. The Virat Kohli-led side has to win either 4-0, 3-1, 3-0 or 2-0. Considering India's record at home over the last few years, they should fancy their chances of making it to the final of the inaugural World Test Championship.
The four-match Test series will commence from February 5 at Chepauk in Chennai. England are also scheduled to play five T20Is and three ODIs respectively.
