The Ro-Ko brilliance – Two of India’s leading run-scorers in the T20 World Cup
As the T20 World Cup is around the corner, the stakes are at an all-time high for the Men in Blue, who will be keen to end their trophy drought in the ICC events. They will be kick-starting their campaign with a clash against Ireland in the Nassau International County Cricket Stadium.
India will be pinning their hopes on the prized top-order that will be spearheaded by two of their most seasoned batters, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. However, with the likes of Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja to follow, this simply gets better. Talking about batters though, before we head into the biennial cricketing fiesta, here are India’s two top run-scorers in the glistening antiquity of the tournament.
Virat Kohli – 1141 runs
The Indian run-machine aces the scoring charts with a staggering tally of 1141 runs scored at an average of 81.50 while registering a strike rate of 131.30. He has blasted 14 half-centuries from the 25 innings that he has batted in while clobbering 103 fours and 28 sixes. With his significant showdown in IPL 2024 that landed him the Orange Cap, he is going to be India’s batting spearhead in the upcoming World Cup as well.
Rohit Sharma – 963 runs
The Indian captain has been a prolific run-scorer in the shortest format of the game and he continues to be a hallowed presence in the echelons of the Men in Blue. With 963 runs next to his name scored at an average of 34.46 and a strike rate of 127.88, it goes without a saying that when Rohit gets going, it's all about rampage.
