Richa Ghosh on how having "the belief" played a role in RCB's record chase in WPL 2025 opener

It was a phenomenal performance from Richa Ghosh, who scored a 27-ball 64 that saw RCB race away to the steep 202-run target in just 18.3 overs. Ghosh’s half-century allowed the Royal Challengers to be back in the hunt and what looked like a tough equation initially was soon broken down into a simple chase.
Ghosh won the Player of the Match award for her incredible knock and talking at the post-match presentation, Richa opened up on her batting plans and the switch in gear, while also highlighting the importance of having the belief that this game could have been clinched despite a tough ask towards the end.
Ghosh said, “The plan was to take time and take it deep, I just tried to focus on my natural game. We always were positive and had the belief to chase this target.”
She concluded by underlining the importance of facing these situations in the drills prepared by Luke Williams, adding, “The preparation was really helpful because we had these kinds of targets and those situations really helped us. The plan was just see ball and hit ball.”
