Feeling very happy - Kanika Ahuja expresses joy after RCB's record-breaking win over Gujarat Giants

Kanika Ahuja, returning from an injury that kept her out of WPL 2024, made a starry comeback in the season opener of WPL 2025, as the talented southpaw played a crucial knock with the bat, combing with Richa Ghosh for a 37-ball 93-run partnership for the 5th wicket that helped RCB chase down a 202-run target in just 18.3 overs.

The left-hander contributed a crucial 13-ball 30, a knock which also eased the pressure on Ghosh, who went about her aggressive strokeplay. Talking in an interview at the end of the game, Ahuja opened up on the journey and her raw emotions which followed suit.

Shedding light on the remarkable turnaround from last year, Kanika said, “I am feeling very happy. Whatever I learned during my rehab and practice sessions, tried to execute in the middle today.”

She concluded with a word about the innings, stating, “I was trying to visualise how I want to play my shots and it came off thankfully. We knew that if we can take it deep, we can win the game and all credits go to my team-mates.”
