Smriti Mandhana blasted through the Delhi Capitals bowling unit with a 47-ball-81, hammering 10 fours and three sixes. Her 107-run stand with Danni Wyatt-Hodge laid the platform for RCB’s phenomenal win. Mandhana also completed her 500 WPL runs to become the sixth batter to rack up the iconic feat.

Talking at the post-match presentation, Mandhana opened up on how the bowlers paved the path for them and the primary strategy behind it all. She also revealed the early assessment of the surface which played a key role in shaping up the gameplan against the Capitals.

Highlighting how the entire bowling unit came together, Smriti said, “The bowlers did a great job. Restricting them to under 150 was a great thing. Wyatt was brilliant in batting. The strategy was to bowl more pace but we took the call depending on the situation of the game.”

Shedding further light on the bowling unit of RCB, Smriti added, “This ground never plays the same twice. The way we started was brilliant. As a team we are proud of our bowlers. Ekta got hit in the first over but came back really well.”

She concluded with a word of praise for herself and Danni Wyatt-Hodge, stating, “Me and Danny have batted so many times together. Last game, we were gutted as we couldn't get a good start. We kept going today and the shots came off today.”
