RCB’s schedule for IPL 2022
In less than three days from now, one of the biggest cricketing revelries will be kicking off under the glitters of Mumbai as the finalists of 2021 will be colliding to put an end to some unfinished business. As Kolkata and Chennai kickstart the fifteenth edition of the tournament, the second day of the fray will witness the first double-header featuring the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Despite coming close to the silverware in the last couple of editions, the Challengers fell short in the final hurdle and as the tournament arrives in its fifteenth year, RCB will have a few bones to pick. The team will be bolstered by the presence of a formidable bowling unit that would be starring the likes of Josh Hazelwood, Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, Siddharth Kaul, and Jason Behrendorff.
They will also be pinning their hopes on their new captain, Faf du Plessis, a T20 cricketing paragon who will be laced with the likes of Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, and Dinesh Karthik in the middle order. The team also has a very good youth base featuring the likes of Anneshwar Gautam, Shahbaz Ahmed, and Luvnith Sisodia who can make wonders happen.
They will be starting their campaign against the Punjab Kings, an opponent who shares a very checkered rivalry with the Challengers. It will be a blockbuster, to say the least, as the finest set of players go head-to-head against each other.
