Anuj Rawat was one of the young guns that were picked in the latest edition of the IPL auction and is touted to be the next big thing in the RCB echelons. A dynamic wicket-keeping batter and a fine striker of the cherry, Rawat has savored a handful of decent practice sessions.

Talking on RCB Bold diaries, Anuj Rawat broke it down on how the entire process of him being picked up by RCB started.

He was heard saying, “They have been watching me for a couple of years. After a T20 tournament, RCB had asked me for my batting and wicket-keeping videos. They have now picked me and I am very happy about it.”

RCB’s chief scout, Malolan Rangarajan weighed in with his assessment of Anuj Rawat as he said, “His first day with us here at the RCB family was pretty good. The fact is from a scouting point of view, we have been looking at him for the last three years. It was really nice to see him feel at home.”

He further added, “the way he has been middling the ball, the way the guys have had a full go for the last two and a half hours, trying to hone their various skills, he is the typical all-rounder, like they say.”

Anuj Rawat talked about his transition from coming out of the quarantine. He stated, “Coming out of a three-day hard quarantine, I wanted to be everywhere on the field and the session went pretty well as planned.”

Talking about his glove drills, he said, “I had some wicket-keeping drills, fielding, and batting. It went really well. He also talked about his personal goals, citing, “There are many players I have played with before like Shahbaz and many others. There are such big players. I wanted to learn from them. I wanted to play along with them. Let’s hope for the best and let’s enjoy the journey.”
