RCB Bold Diaries – Virat Kohli navigates through the complicated waters of IT on Indian Sports Summit

Information and technology have completely transformed human lives. It has brought about a renaissance in every field that we talk about. From our daily activities to the mountain of content that we consume every day, it is a red new dawn for humanity.

However, like all other things that we talk about, information and technology come in with its pros and cons. In the RCB Innovations Lab Indian sports Summit powered by Leaders, Virat Kohli opened up how IT can be a boon for cricket.

Virat Kohli said, “I think information and technology when it comes to utilizing it for the game, in our situation, to help you to prepare in a better way, I more than endorse it for everyone. It might not work to a level of degree for someone else as it might be for someone else. Some people like to watch videos through and through, what they want to do and how they want to do it. For me it doesn’t work that way.”

He further added, “If I want to see something, it will be like for a few videos and that’s it. So I completely understand the inclusion and involvement of technology for the betterment of the game. However, I think the technology of the game, when it is not aligned to a goal, it can be quite distracting, something that I have experienced a lot through my playing career as well, because I have been pretty much in the thick of things for a long period of time.”
