RCB Bold Diaries – Virat Kohli underlines his unique connection with social media

In the modern world, where every element that we need can come to us in a finger tip and with options aplenty, channeling your energy in a single space is always on the difficult side. However, Virat Kohli, the man who has taken batting to a level of Godly brilliance, opened up on how he lives his daily life and why he usually stays away from posting frequently on social media.
Talking at the RCB Innovation Lab Indian Sports Summit powered by Leaders, Virat said, “Luckily I was born in a time where I didn’t grow up with this thing in my pocket. So just for me to keep it on the side is pretty easy. Hence, I don’t engage and post a lot these days. Lot of people are not happy about that but yeah, that’s something that I have consciously tried to do because as I said, to keep up with that for me was just way too much. I just physically felt like it was taking a lot of my energy away from me which I could absolutely apply to my game, to my life, to people around me and I didn’t want to waste any of that.”
Kohli further added, “Also you know a lot of the things that I kind of have to do on social media are the things that I have kind of agreed to in the past but if you would ask me, today I am making a conscious effort not to include my social media handle which is private to me in terms of whatever I am doing next in my life. I am kind of disconnecting the two and I wanted to be able to do that because then what happens is you only see branded content and people are like, oh, there’s nothing being posted apart from this year and it just becomes too complicated.”
