Quite happy with how things went – Rohit Sharma on India’s win in T20 World Cup warm-up match
Team India secured a fine win against Bangladesh in their only warm-up match ahead of the T20 World Cup. In what seemed to be a lopsided encounter, the Men in Blue outmuscled their neighbours by 60 runs.
It was an all-round display from Team India that saw them excelling with the bat while their bowlers were also at the top of their game. The Indian captain, Rohit Sharma seemed in good touch as well as he hammered 23 off 19 balls, whacking two fours and a six.
Talking at the post-match interview, Rohit Sharma said, “Quite happy with how things went, got what we wanted with the game. Important to get used to conditions. New venue, new ground and drop-in pitch.”
Shedding some light on the promotion of Rishabh Pant to No.3, Rohit said, “Just to give him an opportunity. We haven’t nailed the batting line-up yet, we wanted most guys to get a hit in the middle.”
He concluded by heaping praise on Arshdeep Singh and the team, stating, “He has shown us he has the skills upfront and also the backend, he has a very good skill set. We’ve got good 15 players here, just need to nail down the conditions and pick the best players.”
