Punjab Kings hope to arrest their decline as Lucknow Super Giants challenge lurks ahead
15 Apr, 2023 By Editor

In a cracking double-header, if the Royal Challengers Bangalore versus the Delhi Capitals would serve as the deafening overture for the cricket fans, it is the Lucknow Super Giants taking on the Punjab Kings in a swashbuckling battle of hard-hitting against calculations to manifest as the glass-shattering crescendo.

LSG will be coming to this fixture on the back of a thrilling win against the Royal Challengers Bangalore as they secured a last-ball victory to remain in the hunt of being one of the top sides of the ongoing edition of the IPL. Their bowling was peppered to every single nook and cranny of the park before the duo of Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran who changed the game on its head.

The Punjab Kings, on the contrary, started the tournament on a rampant note as they got the better of KKR in a rain-dampened encounter that was followed by another rip-roaring victory. However, things started going south against the Sunrisers Hyderabad where they slumped down to a crushing defeat and then in a cruel turn of fortune, they were bent, fractured and bruised by the Gujarat Titans.

This is going to be an entirely different ball game as the Punjab Kings would be hoping to put their hard-hitting to the test while Lucknow would be hoping that their bowlers come back well after being whacked around by the RCB batsmen.
