India’s Nishad Kumar lept his way to a second Paralympic medal as he clinched the silver in the Men’s high jump T47 category at the Paris Para Games. The 24-year-old Indian para-athlete jumped to a height of 2.04 m in the final to win silver.

It was a close shave between Kumar and the eventual winner, USA’s Roderick Townsend. This is his second silver in the Para games as he clinched silver in the 2020 Tokyo Games as well.

Roderick won gold with 2.08m in Stade de France, and the American was incidentally the gold medal winner in Tokyo with a clearance level of 2.15m. This was Roderick’s third gold medal in three consecutive Para games. Neutral para athlete Georgii Margiev settled for bronze with a leap of 2.00m.
