New Zealand vs Australia: The battle for T20 Supremacy
Drama, thriller, excitement - kept us on edge throughout the tournament. It's time to witness the final episode of the T20 World Cup, which lies on the southern hemisphere side that decides the fate of lifting the prestigious trophy and a title forever.
The Trans-Tasman rivalry between New Zealand & Australia will pen down another epic battle to the climax of this tournament. New Zealand has successfully reached three consecutive finals of the ICC tournament, while Australia's first since lifting World Cup in 2015.
"It's not unexpected: we came here with a clear plan to try and win this tournament and always felt as though we had the depth and quality in our squad to put ourselves in a position to do that, and New Zealand have been in every final for a long time now in ICC events. They're a great team overall three formats and can never be underestimated, but maybe people on the outside do", said the Australian skipper Aaron Finch ahead of their clash against New Zealand.
Kane Williamson shared his thought on the Trans-Tasman rivalry, "I suppose the fact that we're neighbours creates a bit of that [rivalry]. And [in] a number of different sports as well. We play each other on a number of occasions. It's always a great competition and great occasion when we play each other."
Team News:
Devon Conway broke his hand after punching his bat in frustration leading him to stay out during the semi-final.
