Loving this moment – Arshdeep Singh on his maiden fifer in international cricket
Arshdeep Singh’s five-star showdown left South Africa with a bitter taste in their mouth at the Wanderers as India scripted a fine victory to kickstart the ODI series. Claiming his maiden fifer in international cricket, Singh produced some vicious movement that left South Africa all over the place with seasoned campaigners like van der Dussen, Heinrich Klaasen and Reeza Hendricks biting the dust.
Named the Player of the Match for his defining show, Arshdeep highlighted the things that went right for him and how he would like to proceed further with a lot at stake in this ongoing ODI series. The last time India travelled to South Africa they returned empty handed in the shorter format of the game. However, with Arshdeep instilling hopes in the hearts of the fans, a lot may just turn around this time.
Talking at the post-match presentation, Arshdeep said, “I feel little sore. Loving this moment. Thank God and the team management. It is a little different than normal grounds as I was running out of breath. Personally it feels good, I am enjoying my role.”
He concluded by thanking his captain, stating, “I would thank KL Rahul bhai as he said you have to come back and get that fifer. I guess it is about enjoying this moment. For the upcoming matches, when we go there, then focus on what will work there.”
