Josh Hazlewood shines with a crucial 3-fer against South Africa

Australia may have pulled off a miracle against South Africa in the first ODI as Ashton Agar and Marnus Labuschagne forged a historic partnership of 112 runs to defy the might of the Proteas in their backyard.
However, the man who laid down the foundation for an incredible finish like that was none other than RCB ace quick, Josh Hazlewood.

A fiery spell up from Hoff hamstrung the hosts in a very effective manner and there was no looking back for the mighty Aussies in the bowling department. He started off on a very frugal note, barely giving away anything to the hosts.

His first scalp was that of David Miller, landing a 130-clicker that was nicked by the southpaw straight into the gloves of Alex Carey. His next telling blow to the South African rankings was Marco Jansen as he landed a fuller one with the ball barely nipping back in, enough to cannon through the defences of the lanky South African fast bowler.

He finished things off on a sumptuous note with another fuller delivery, forcing Lungi Ngidi to miscue his drive as the ball caught whiff of his edge and was safely pouched by Carey. The Bendemeer Bullet capped things off with a fine spell of 10-2-41-3 as he helped Australia restrict the Proteas to a paltry score.
