9:04 PM - We call it a day at Dubai as all our remaining slots were filled in at the mini-auction. We started the day with Alzarri Joseph and then followed it up with young Indian pace sensation, Yash Dayal. Up next in the line was Kiwi express, Lockie Ferguson following which was our splash for the youngsters. Swapnil Singh and Saurav Chauhan were the final pieces of the puzzle. 9:02 PM - RCB closes the day as they call the final purchase of the evening with a young Saurav Chauhan being roped in for INR 20 lakh.

 

8:57 PM - Another addition to RCB's prized Class of 2024 had a very special connection with Virat Kohli as Swapnil Singh was a probable for the U19 Indian team that was to travel to Malaysia. However, fast forward 15 years and he will be donning the Red and Gold threads as RCB roped him in for his base price of INR 20 lakh.

 

8:45 PM - The Kiwi Express, Lockie Ferguson is coming to Bengaluru as RCB roped him in without any resistance whatsoever for his base price of INR 2 crore. Welcome to the Red and Gold Army, Lockie!

 

8:12 PM - A quick update, peeps. Final round of preffered players coming up. As things stand so far, the Royal Challengers Bangalore has boarded the likes of Alzarri Joseph, Yash Dayal and all-rounder, Tom Curran in their side. With INR 5.25 crore still in the bag and three player slots available, is there another big name loading for the Red and Gold brigade?

 

7:45 PM - The battle of paddles continued for the Royal Challengers Bangalore as this time they were locked in a fierce battle with KKR for Sri Lankan sensation, Nuwan Thushara. However, it was Mumbai Indians who would swoop up the Lankan fast bowler for INR 4.8 crore.

 

7:39 PM - A close battle for Aussie sensation, Jhye Richardson, ensued as RCB went toe-to-toe with the Delhi Capitals till the mark of INR 5 crore. However, it was the Capitals who managed to have the final call on the matter as the Aussie pacer will be donning the Delhi threads.

 

7:22 PM - Hello 12th Man Army! How have you been? Been an hour, right? Another major signing announced and this time it is the English all-rounder, Tom Curran. Without any opposition whatsoever, the medium fast bowler will be joining the Royal Challengers Bangalore for his base price of INR 1.50 crore.

 

6:35 PM - With the final set of players coming to an end, RCB has managed to land the likes of Alzarri Joseph and Yash Dayal so far. Accelerated auction coming up, folks. Time for you to catch a quick break before we go all crazy in Dubai.

 

6:30 PM - Another exchange of paddles with the Lucknow Super Giants for the talented Manimaran Siddharth but eventually it was Lucknow Super Giants who had the last laugh at INR 2.4 crore.

 

6:15 PM - It's been exactly an hour since we had our last update and here we come, this time with an exciting fast-bowling talent, Yash Dayal. The young gun is capable of clocking numbers up to 140 clicks without breaking a sweat and can be a threat with the new ball. Coming off the back of an impressive performance in the domestic circuit, Dayal was roped in by the Royal Challengers for INR 5 crore after a fine battle with his former franchise, Gujarat Titans.

 

5:15 PM - Hi Folks, it's been a while. A quick reminder for you all, we are back again. The hunt continues for our next big superstar as the auction rolls on in Dubai.

 

4:05 PM - We come to the end of another set. As things stand, RCB has landed ace Carribbean quick, Alzarri Joseph for INR 11.50 crore. With five slots still remaining and a purse size of INR 11.75 crore, expect the paddle to do its trick in the upcoming sets.

 

3:48 PM - Well even though it is not RCB, yet ex-RCB fast bowler, Mitchell Starc becomes the second player in the history of IPL to cross the hallowed INR 20 crore mark. After a ferocious battle between Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders, Starc heads to KKR for INR 24.75 crore

 

3:31 PM - Another pulsating battle of the paddles for Shivam Mavi with Lucknow Super Giants but this time it is the latter who eventually had the last laugh. Eventually it is for INR 6.4 crore that Mavi heads to LSG. 

 

3:21 PM - It's official. The towering Caribbean fast bowler, Alzarri Joseph, the man with incredible figures of 6/12 as his IPL best will be joining RCB for the upcoming season. After a ferocious battle with Lucknow Super Giants, RCB had the last laugh, landing the ace quick for INR 11.50 crore.

 

2:45 PM - We come to the end of another set and RCB is still to make their first buy of the auction. However, with bigger names still to come, hold onto your breath. We are just warming up.

 

2:15 PM - RCB did make a lot of noise for Australian ace quick, Pat Cummins. However, it was Sunrisers Hyderabad who had the last laugh as they bought the towering Aussie for a staggering INR 20.50 crore, the highest ever amount for an individual player.

 

1:45 PM - So it has been a silent hour for the Royal Challengers Bangalore as we finished the first round without a buy. So we still have our purse intact. More coming up shortly.

 

1:07 PM - With a purse size of INR 23.25, RCB will have to fill six slots. So, whom are we going for? Stay tuned, folks.
