As RCB gears up for the IPL 2024 auction, a lot of things will be going on in the minds of the ones present at the table in terms of who to sign, how much to spend among other topics. One among the key figures at the RCB table will be head coach, Andy Flower.

Talking on the latest episode of RCB Bold Diaries, Flower said, “We have a good squad already. If you take a look at the top four, with Patidar coming back into the top four, it is a really strong top four with Virat, Faf, Patidar and Maxwell.”

He further added, “Cameron Green gives us that power somewhere in that top five, though we haven’t decided exactly where he is going to bat. That is going to be very dangerous for the opposition. Siraj will lead the attack. Him being fit and firing is going to be very important for us. I think we have got some really skillful, young Indian bowlers there who are going to be growing with us through the season. And hopefully play a really important part for us.”

Andy continued, “One of the professional challenges for a franchise coach is to try and build a league-winning team. Each time you join a franchise, it’s just that each team is very different. The management team is very different. Each playing unit is different. And there is a different feel to every dressing room. I think getting the feel for the dressing room, getting the feel for the big characters of the dressing room and being able to flex your style with them is really important.”

Flower further said, “Having a good relationship with the captain is really important. And being able to get the right people in that dressing room, that’s why the auction or the draft in the franchise leagues are really important towards your chances of winning. And once you get the right people in the dressing room, one of the leaders will have to extract as much potential as he can from the individuals and also put them together. Also all of them come together and make a really powerful package and get the result we're after.”
