India continue to be table toppers in ICC Test rankings annual update

In the annual ICC team rankings update, India have retained the top spot in the Test rankings. The rankings were released on Thursday. India are table leaders with a rating of 121, and have accumulated 2914 points from 24 matches.

Closely following India in the table are their opponent in the World Test Championship final New Zealand. The Kiwis have a rating of 120 and have managed 2166 points in 18 Tests.

England, who were in contention of playing the final before India thumped them in the Test series to eliminate their chances, have 109 rating, helping them climb to the third place. Australia have slipped to fourth place while Pakistan are fifth (94).

West Indies (84) have jumped two places to sixth. South Africa (80) and Sri Lanka (78) both have a place each to be positioned seventh and eighth positions respectively. Bangladesh (46) and Zimbabwe (35) are placed 9th and 10th in the latest ranking update.

The final of the World Test Championship final will be played from June 18 in Southampton, England. New Zealand will play two Tests against England before the all-important final.
