India A to play three four-day warm-up matches against Lions ahead of England tour – Reports
With a busy schedule loading up for Team India in mid-2025, there will be a distant focus on the upcoming tour of England which will feature five Test matches in June. As reported by ESPNCricinfo, India A will be playing three four-day fixtures against the Lions, which might play a pivotal role in deciding the squad for the English outings.
After India crashed out of the race for a berth in the World Test Championship 2023-25 final, space has opened up for the Indian players to test their skills before they venture forth to England, which offers somewhat similar surfaces to Australia, rife with pace and bounce.
With the IPL ending on May 25th and India starting their England tour on June 20th, it will be a welcome addition for the Indian players to prove their worth in the four-day matches. The report also stated that the BCCI is confident of the fact that the ECB will provide a strong opposition considering the fact that India did the same in the shadow tour ahead of their Test series in 2023-24.
