I’ll be working even harder now – Arundhati Reddy after superlative show against Pakistan
It was a power-packed performance from Team India against Pakistan as they got back to winning ways in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Arundhati Reddy led the charge for India with a three-fer and the tally could have had more had it not been for a couple of dropped catches.
Awarded the Player of the Match for the contest, while talking at the post-match presentation, Reddy underlined what worked for her and spoke on her preparations. She also talked about how the performance has already been an eye-opener for her and what the Player of the Match means for her future.
Reddy said, “I’ve been bowling with the new ball, and had to be prepared for the powerplay. We had a good powerplay, Renuka too bowled very well. I have worked a lot on my T20 bowling, in all stages of the game. I’ll be working even harder now.”
Talking about the conditions, she said, “It was a day game and it was pretty hot, but we are used to this weather. I just wanted to hit the stumps more, use my variations and slower ones. That has been working for me.”
India will be playing their next fixture against Sri Lanka on 9th October which will be an evening clash and most importantly another must-win battle for the Indians, considering they lost against the Kiwis in the opener.
