Faf du Plessis recently released his biography called ‘Through Fire’ and the book has so far been very well received by the audience. The RCB captain would soon be returning to India to lead RCB in the upcoming IPL 2023 and would once again be shouldered with the onus of leading the team to another edition of the franchise extravaganza.

He played a crucial role in helping RCB land a spot in the play-offs. Faf had a lot to say about his book and the message is one of the sweetest reminders of why you should actually sneak a peek in ‘Faf: Through Fire’. Talking on BBC, Faf said, “My story is about failure. I didn't want to write a cricket book. I wouldn't have started if that was the aim.”

He further added, “I wanted to write a book about leadership, about relationships, about struggle. That's what this is about. I wanted to create something that people would be able to relate to.”

The RCB skipper had an important message for his fans, as he concluded by saying, “They might see me as an elite athlete and cricket captain, but I was a person who was filled with self-doubt and insecurity. And that's OK. I wanted to give people things they could then say, 'I know what that feels like'. I hope this connects with people even if they aren't cricket fans.”
