RCB-W secured their second straight win on the trot in WPL 2024, at the expense of a crestfallen Gujarat Giants. It was an electric display from their bowling unit that threw the Giants off-balance up front while another display of fireworks with the bat got the job done for RCB.

Sabbhineni Meghana played another impeccable knock, following up her half-century in the first match with an unbeaten 36 to seal the fate of the contest alongside Smriti Mandhana’s feisty start earlier, followed by Ellyse Perry’s blitzkrieg later in the game. Talking after the match, Meghana spoke at length about her innings and how it panned out.

Meghana said, “I took the confidence from the first game, utilized the powerplay and it worked well for me. After Smriti got out, I wanted to rotate strike and give more strike to Perry. I got a message to calm down and if there's a ball to be hit, go for it, otherwise rotate the strike.”

She concluded by saying, “I have got a lot of support from Smriti and the team. They have told me to back my strengths that has allowed me to play my natural game. Definitely yes. I'm a bit more relaxed going at 3. I was looking at Smriti because there's so much crowd, we can't hear, I was looking at her for guidance on the field.”
