Keep it simple – Smriti Mandhana’s winning mantra for her RCB-W teammates

Smriti Mandhana spearheaded the charge with the bat as RCB-W pocketed their second win on the trot in WPL 2024. The hard-hitting southpaw blasted 43 from 27 balls, an innings that featured eight fours and a six as RCB chased down a modest 108-run target inside 13 overs.

Talking at the post-match presentation, Smriti once again thanked the fans for turning up in large numbers while also dissecting the match, heaping praises on her team for another delightful display in the ongoing edition of WPL.

Smriti said, “Really happy with the way the crowd turned out, big shout out to them as well. There was no message, keep it simple, watch the ball and react. Me and Sophie do best when we are not thinking. Last match was more to do with the way we saw the first innings. We saw the last match here, there was something in it for the pacers.”

She further said, “Renuka and Sophie can swing the ball, Renuka the inswinger and Sophie the outswinger, both were brilliant. S Meghana has had a good few seasons domestically and last game she was brilliant. Even today she was really calm and she can strike at a good strike-rate and anchor the innings. Lot of work has gone in the last one year on what kind of team we need. I thank the support staff and the management for this.”

After two wins in a row, RCB-W will next be in action when they take on the Delhi Capitals on 29th February at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
