Harshal Patel to Glenn Maxwell: top three performances for RCB vs PBKS

RCB couldn’t rack up the required momentum on a day when it was needed the most as they would fall to the Punjab Kings in a lopsided encounter. The Challengers struggled early in both the innings as their bowlers and batters couldn’t get in place the much-needed efforts that would have sailed their boats towards the desired direction.

Despite a loss that dented RCB's chances of making it to the playoffs, there were performances that the team will take plenty of hope from with one last league game to go with the top 4 doors still open.

1. Harshal Patel

The Purple Cap winner of the 2021 edition of the tournament dished out the most impressive individual figures for himself in 2022 as he would rack up 4 wickets for just 34 runs on a night where the RCB bowlers were completely off their elements. More importantly, he would conjure that excellent final over that would leak just 4 runs and produce the all-important scalp of Liam Livingstone.

2. Wanindu Hasaranga

The Lankan wizard would weave another magical spell that would stem the run-rate of a free-flowing display from the Punjab Kings. He would twist and turn his way through a maze of dominant PBKS batters and yet would come out on top with an excellent display that would leave the batters baffled. On a tempestuous day where the Challengers would fall to the Kings, Hasaranga would go on to claim the purple cap with figures of 4-0-15-2.

3. Glenn Maxwell

Despite missing out on an opportunity to ride on the perfect moment of carnage, Maxwell was still impactful in his stormy residence in the middle. He would stitch together a crucial partnership with Rajat Patidar that would instill hopes of a miraculous watershed before Patidar would miscue his effort while his 22-ball-35 saw him smoking 3 fours and a six. He was also handy with the ball in his hands as he would go on to claim the vital wicket of Shikhar Dhawan with an absolute ripper.
