Great headache to have – Jasprit Bumrah highlights depth in the Indian team’s ranks after 2nd T20I vs Ireland
Jasprit Bumrah had another wonderful day in office as he clinched a couple of scalps in the second T20I against Ireland, capping things off on a high as he registered a wicket-maiden in the final over of the game. The Indian captain has made a return to international cricket after quite a long time and his figures against Ireland would be quite motivating ahead of the upcoming World Cup.
In his post-match interview, Bumrah highlighted his feelings and also underlined how the conditions were different from the first T20I that was played in the exact same venue. He also talked at length about how the dressing room has been feeling after the first two games and how India plan to amplify the joys in their camp.
Bumrah said, “I am feeling good. Today was a little drier. We thought it would get slower and hence batted first. It is very pleasing. It is tough to pick an XI. Great headache to have. Everyone is eager. Everyone is confident. All of us wanted to play for India.”
Shedding some light on how the players made the cut for the starting XI, Bumrah said, “Eventually, everyone has to work their way up. If you play with a baggage of expectation, you are under pressure. You have to keep those expectations aside. You are not doing yourself 100 percent justice if you are playing with so many expectations.”
India will be coming to the series finale with hopes of making a few changes as the team has already bagged the series win, while Ireland will be looking to throw a spanner in the works.
