Great game for our team – Cameron Green on winning the Player of the Match award

13 May, 2024 By Editor

Cameron Green was in electric touch last night, playing a crucial knock in the middle order with the bat as he scored an unbeaten 32 off just 24 balls. The numbers may not be overwhelmingly staggering but when he came out to bat, the ball had softened up eventually, gripping onto the surface and thereby making it very hard to bat.

Another factor that makes this innings special is that RCB kept on losing wickets at the other end and they needed someone to anchor this innings alongside keeping the momentum intact.

Green was equally brilliant in the field and with the ball in his hands as he registered figures of 4-0-19-1. He got the important wicket of Rasikh Dar while running out Tristan Stubbs. With such a herculean impact on the game, the towering Aussie was adjudged as the Player of the Match. Talking at the post-match presentation, Green shed some crucial light about those little factors that eventually defined the game.

Cam said, “Great game for our team. This year there has been so many high scores and there is little bit something there for the bowler and our bowlers were brilliant from the start.”

He concluded by saying, “We identified that pace on is easy to play, Khaleel bowled a lot of off-cutters which were gripping and tough to target and we tried the same in our bowling. This is such a small ground and there is something in there for the bowlers which is good to see.”
