Dressing Room Diaries – Rajat Patidar highlights the game-changers for RCB against DC
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru kept their dream of making the IPL 2024 Playoffs alive after another sensational display where they trounced Delhi Capitals, riding high on some incredible top-order batting while being backed efficiently by their bowlers.
Virat Kohli (27), Will Jacks (41) and Rajat Patidar (52) provided the much-needed start while Cameron Green gave a late flourish with the bat to sail RCB to a warring 187. The bowlers led by Yash Dayal did a fine job too while Lockie Ferguson chimed in with another impressive display to drum up the troubles for the Capitals.
In RCB’s post-match dressing room chat, Rajat Patidar was tasked with the onus of talking about the team’s batting display. He was joined by Cameron Green to shed further light on the remainder of the game.
Rajat said, “I will start with Virat bhai and Faf. The way they have shown the intent, not only in this match but earlier match also, that was the perfect example that we keep talking about, just what showing and keeping the intent means.”
He continued, “After that Will Jacks and me, I think that was very crucial at that time because we were two down. One more partnership between Green and Mahi, that partnership took us to the nice total that we can defend on this track. So I think these two partnerships are very crucial for this game. So I think the way you have shown the intent, I think that was superb.”
Cameron Green said, “180 hasn’t been enough but we knew we had a chance with the wicket being the way it was. Finally we have a wicket that has a bit in it for the bowlers so we knew that we had a chance and probably we did bowl well in the powerplay. We certainly did that.”
