Former Australian cricketer, John Buchanan had an important message for Yashasvi Jaiswal

India will be locking horns with Australia for the upcoming edition of the Border- Gavaskar Trophy in November where they will be playing five Test matches this time. Even though the team is yet to be announced, the presence of Yashasvi Jaiswal in the side is being deemed as a certainty, especially after his terrific form in the whites away from home.

However, this is going to be Yashasvi Jaiswal’s first series Down Under and the challenges will be supreme. Despite being a fearless young cricketer, the conditions in Australia where there is extra bounce and a decent amount of lateral movement as well, for even the finest, it takes them time to get into the groove.

Former Australian player, John Buchanan, labelled Yashasvi Jaiswal as an ‘exciting’ player but also added a pinch of salt to the message for the young southpaw. “There is a lot of talk about that, is not there? He is an exciting young player, and certainly one to watch, but he would be to me one of those examples,” said Buchanan at the launch event of 'Ready Steady Go Kids' program with CP Goenka International School and Sports Gurukul.

He further added, “He (Jaiswal) has not played in Australia, or at least he has not played in Perth in a Test match on a wicket that bounces So, his ability to adjust his game to those conditions in some sense might be a barometer as to how India will go through the series.”
