India will be up against West Indies in what is going to be a swashbuckling bilateral affair that will feature a few of India’s imperious names taking the yard in a bid for preparation ahead of the upcoming Cricket World Cup that is slated to be played in India in October and November.

While India’s tour of the West Indies holds a lot of weightage not just ahead of the World Cup but also in the context of the World Test Championship, every overseas tour for India presents an opportunity for the players to meet some of their best mates.

Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle’s bond is well-documented as one of the strongest friendships on and off the field, with the duo always speaking well of each other and reminiscing times they’ve spent together in the past. In a recent chat on Star Sports’ show “Follow the Blues”, Kohli shed light on the special bond he shares with the Universe Boss, and how he’d love to meet his former RCB teammate during the tour.

Virat said, “Well Chris, I have hung out with him for so many years. I am sure that when we are in Jamaica, we will definitely go and meet Chris. He always invites the team home to have a good time and just chill out."

He further added, “So I am sure he is going to do the same again if he is in town. Everyone loves him. We went last time as well to his place, we had a great time and he is such a humble guy. Definitely, if he is free and he is in town, sure we are going to catch up with him."
