Never imagined the journey would bring us back here – Virat Kohli shares a heartwarming post about Rahul Dravid
India will be up against West Indies across two Test matches followed by three ODIs and five T20Is that would see the Men in Blue spend a significant amount of time in the Caribbean islands, in the process also aiding their preparations ahead of the upcoming Cricket World Cup.
As India prepares to pose a significant challenge to the hosts, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will hope to lead the pack with their experience, with Rahul Dravid’s guidance as coach certain to prove as inspiration for the youth. Ahead of the first Test in Dominica, Kohli shared an Instagram post which oozed nostalgia, with the Indian star posting a photo with Dravid as the only two men in the Indian setup from the unit that was last in the city for a Test back in 2011.
In the post, Virat Kohli mentioned, “The only two guys part of the last test we played at Dominica in 2011. Never imagined the journey would bring us back here in different capacities. Highly grateful.”
For the first time in six years, Dominica will be hosting a Test match while India’s last Test match at the venue came way back in 2011. Despite a wobbly start, India regrouped under the leadership of MS Dhoni before eventually surging 1-0 up in the series. It was the collective efforts of Murali Vijay, Dravid and Harbhajan Singh that helped India to rally back and challenge the might of the hosts.
