Every Test match is important: Gautam Gambhir

Team India completed an emphatic win over England in the second Test match at Chennai this past week and now they are placed second in the World Test Championship rankings. The third Test match is set to take place at the new Sadar Patel Stadium, Motera, Ahmedabad, starting on 24 February.

Former India batsman Gautam Gambhir thinks that Team India needs to focus on the Motera Test rather than the WTC final which is scheduled to take place at Lord’s later this year.

"Every Test match is important, one should not keep on thinking about the World Test Championship. The team should focus on this pink-ball game. I think it would be a good Test match," Gautam Gambhir told ANI.

They say, "Every step is the first step if it's a step in the right direction," and the hosts will be concentrating on how to overcome this challenge and move forward. It is worth noting that the third Test will be a D/N (Day and Night) pink-ball match. This is going to be India’s second pink-ball Test match at home.

India’s Probable Playing XI

Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli (Captain), Ajinkya Rahane (Vice-captain), Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), R Ashwin, Axar Patel, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah.
