Capital-sized challenge awaits as RCB clash with DC

After a thrilling win in the season opener, RCB will take the yard again as they will be up against the finalists of the last year, Delhi Capitals. In a replay of the 2024 finale, the two powerhouses of WPL will be hoping to dish out a high-octane encounter featuring lots of thrills and excitement.

RCB started their season with a win against the Gujarat Giants. It was an extraordinary batting showdown from the Royal Challengers as they conjured the highest chase in WPL history. Richa Ghosh, Ellyse Perry and Kanika Ahuja were in dream touch, smashing and hacking through the bowlers at will. However, the bowling numbers were spots of bother for RCB and they will have to work upon it, especially after being divested of the services of Asha Sobhana, Shreyanka Patil, Sophie Molineux and Kate Cross.

Delhi Capitals seized a win on the last ball of the game in a brilliant chase against Mumbai Indians. Niki Prasad’s crucial 35 saw DC prevail in a battle that was dominated by the bowlers on Day 2 of the contest. Delhi’s bowling has been pretty solid but the batters will possibly have to look around in order to improve the numbers. In a clash of two extremes, one can expect for the embers to fly in Vadodara.

Venue Watch:

It is going to be a dry surface again in Vadodara, assisting the turners. With the kind of batting display that we have seen, one might expect the batters to dominate again, only if they are watchful of the turn and the early movement. There are hard-hitters in both the sides and it won’t be surprising if runs galore in Vadodara.
