Brilliant to watch – Smriti Mandhana heaps praises on Richa Ghosh's knock against Giants

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru put on a batting masterclass at the BCA Stadium in Baroda that saw them toppling Gujarat Giants in a record-breaking run-chase in the season opener of WPL 2025. Richa Ghosh was the standout for RCB, with the dynamic wicket-keeper batter smashing her way to a fifty, a major driving force in the team's push for victory.

Talking at the post-match presentation, RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana decoded the game, heaping praise on Richa Ghosh while also underlining the role of dew in her decision to bowl first at the toss.

Highlighting the very special innings played by Richa Ghosh, Mandhana said, “Really happy to be on the winning side. The way Richa batted, it was brilliant to watch in the end.”

She concluded by talking about the training drills and the picks at the auction, adding, “They have been doing that in the nets to all our bowlers and we always thought we were in the game after the first innings because of the dew. We had a good auction and whoever came in for the injured, thought they were all good replacements.”
