Team India's preparations for the highly anticipated T20 World Cup are well underway with two warm-up matches ahead of their first match in the Super 12 stage. Last evening, the men in blue sporting their brand new limited-overs jersey played England in the first warm-up match where they beat the Three Lions by 7 wickets. Valuable contributions from KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, Rishabh Pant and Mohammed Shami helped them seal the victory.

India’s T20 World Cup campaign kicks off with the high-intensity clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on Sunday, October 24 at the Dubai International Stadium. During an interaction on Star Sports, Team India coach Ravi Shastri spoke about the factor that decides what needs to be done when the toss is won and how it also influences the selection of an extra spinner or a seamer in the UAE conditions.

"We'll just try to see how much dew is around and accordingly decide to bat/bowl first. Also helps us decide about playing an extra spinner or seamer," Ravi Shastri told Deep Dasgupta on Star Sports.

On Team India’s preparation and match fitness

"Boys have been playing IPL for the last two months, so I don't think they need too much preparation. It's more about them getting together and adapting together. Get some rhythm going, some energy going,” he added.

On team strategy and finding the perfect eleven

"Everyone can bat, everyone can bowl (in this game). So it will help us to get an idea about who is doing how. Not really (regarding any locked strategy). We'll just see how things go and work a combination around,” said coach Shastri.
