“You must have experienced this many more times”: Gautam Gambhir on the rapture of a brilliant innings to Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir have been eminent luminaries of Indian batting. Kohli still continues to wield his blade and will be in action tomorrow when India lock horns with Bangladesh while Gautam Gambhir has also been a part of several such battles including two World Cup finals, propelling India to the crown.

In a video posted by BCCI, both Gautam Gambhir reflected on a very special knock of his, the one which saw him hammer a brilliant century against New Zealand in Napier. That knock was a true testimony to his mettle and class.

Heaping praise on Virat Kohli, Gautam Gambhir said, “I remember when you had a bumper series in Australia, where you scored heaps and heaps of runs and that got you into that zone and for me it was exactly the same when I played in Napier.”

Talking further about that special knock of 137, Gambhir emphasized on the kind of concentration that he had during that very special knock. He stated, “If I look back, can I bat for another two and a half days? I don’t think so. I could have never done that again and I have never been in that zone ever in my life after that. So I can imagine how good that feeling is to be in that zone and I am sure you must have experienced this many more times as compared to what I have.”
