Yashasvi Jaiswal is a prolific scorer across all the formats: Wasim Jaffer backs Indian youngster to come good in Tests
With the Indian cricket team yet to name their squad for the upcoming Test matches against West Indies, there is expectation of a few new faces to be included in view of the posterity of India's Test scenario.
A few names are obviously doing the rounds more than the others, based on last year's performance in the domestic circuit. Former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer voiced his opinion about the fresh faces who should make the squad, and he particularly spoke highly of southpaw, Yashasvi Jaiswal.
Talking to Sportskeeda, Jaffer said, “Yashasvi Jaiswal is definitely one of them. He has been a very prolific scorer across formats, whether you talk about the IPL, domestic cricket or India A cricket. I think he needs to be a part of the squad.”
He further added, “He was given an opportunity as well this time. He was a part of the team but Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma were playing, so obviously he didn't get a chance. I feel he should be kept along with the team so that he can be groomed, and as and when an opportunity comes, he should get a chance.”
