The Indian women will be participating in the grand finale of the latest edition of the Asia Cup where they will be confronting the Sri Lankan women for the hallowed silverware. Indian captain, Harmanpreet Singh was hopeful of clinching the tournament, given the fact that India has actually managed to find a new match-winner in almost all of the games, showcasing the depth of the team.

Speaking ahead of the grand finale, Harmanpreet said, “Conditions and wickets were totally different [in England], and it is totally different here. We only got one day to change our gears. In England, we were getting good batting tracks and ball was swinging. But when we got here, we had to change our plans. But the good thing was that all the players took the challenge.”

She further added, “We got only one [warm-up] session before the game, so it shows how strong we are as a team. The character is building. It is something I really appreciated in the team meetings also. We are enjoying our cricket."

So far, India has just lost a solitary game in the tournament and it came at the hands of Pakistan who was knocked out by India’s counterparts for the imminent finale. Harmanpreet opened up on their initial plan when India made their footfall in Bangladesh.

“When we came to Bangladesh, we discussed that we need to look for a different match-winner. We don't want to depend on one or two players. We want every player to step up, and win the game for the team. I am happy that we are getting match-winners in every game”, she concluded.
