We can't be taken lightly as a Test team – Virat Kohli on India’s strength ahead of the WTC final
In under 24 hours' time, the World Test Championship is going to be upon us and as the last-minute preparations chug along, former Indian captain Virat Kohli opened up on the upcoming clash of the two Test juggernauts.
He fired a massive warning to Australia, stating that if India is taken lightly then that can prove to be a crucial blow to the mighty Aussies. Kohli also shed light on how he is gearing up for the summit clash against Australia with the Mace on the line and how tricky the English conditions are.
Speaking on Star Sports, Virat Kohli said, “The rivalry between India and Australia, in the early days, used to be a lot [more] intense. There used to be a tense environment. But after we won two series in Australia, the rivalry has turned into respect.”
He further added, “We can't be taken lightly as a Test team. We can see the respect the oppositions have for us. They expect us to give a close fight even in their conditions. We can't be taken lightly anymore."
Virat also shed some light on the English conditions, stating, “This is the beauty of WTC, there are two teams at a neutral venue. And the beauty of it is to see how the two teams adapt."
