We are going to do a few special things: RCB head coach, Sanjay Bangar
There were so many overwhelming emotions flying high in Mumbai as the Royal Challengers Bangalore took to their opening practice session in 2022 on Thursday evening. Even though the full squad is still to join, the ones available rocked the nets to the coaches’ delight.
Faf du Plessis played a few incredible strokes that screamed brilliance while Luvnith Sisodia was phenomenal in the nets, playing a handful of bedazzling shots making a strong case for a position in the starting eleven.
Sanjay Bangar, the head coach, gave a brief introduction about the ones present and welcomed everyone to the team with a message about RCB’s core beliefs. He was heard quoting, “Welcome all of you. You all bring a lot of skillsets along with you whether you have played a lot of cricket or you are just starting as Aneeshwar is. We have full confidence in your abilities.”
He further added, “The next couple of days, we are going to be easing you in the RCB structure. We are going to do a few special things this season which is not possible without your contribution and without you.”
Mike Hesson was pretty happy about the team finally coming together as he quoted, “It is actually just nice to meet the guys. The ones that you have watched on videos, the ones that you watched from far, you can try and sit down with them and have a cup of coffee with them and talk about their game. It is exciting.”
He also quoted, “It is the fresh part about a new group, isn’t it? There is a definitely a huge amount of excitement here (pointing to the nets). There is also a lot of unknowns which is also nice.”
Briefly shedding some light on the practice strategies, Hesson was heard quoting, “We have purposely separated them in two groups so that we can actually get a lot of work into them today and we will be doing the same again tomorrow.”
Mike Hesson kept a keen eye on the nets where Faf was seen crafting a couple of massive strikes even though there were a few swings and misses. It was just the beginning and with every passing day the intent would simply be growing stronger than ever.
Royal Challengers Bangalore will be starting their campaign against Punjab Kings on 27th of March as they play the second of the edition’s first double-header.
