Watch – Virat Kohli brings up his 30th half-century with an exquisite cover drive
If there is one man who has been synonymous with the exquisite art of playing THE perfect cover drive in international cricket, it is none other than Virat Kohli.
Known as that stock shot of his, Virat has mastered the art of perfection in that drive where he very efficiently keeps an eye on the ball till the last moment, with his front foot moving in the direction of the shot, his head keeping still, his back foot shuffling the very bare minimum inches needed and him imparting the weight from his back-hand very adroitly to that drive of his.
In the second India vs West Indies Test at Trinidad, Kohli was up against Jomel Warrican, the left-arm offie in the 66th over when he brought out that ace strike of his. Watching the ball once again till the end, he drove it to the ropes in such an exquisite fashion.
In the race between the ball and the West Indian skipper, it was the former who won as Brathwaite did pull the ball back but touched the ropes in the process, gifting Virat four runs to bring up the 30th half century of his international career.
