Starting the day on 86, it took Virat Kohli a couple of balls before scored his first runs of the day as he swept a ball from Brathwaite, hitting Tagenarine Chanderpaul on the follow through. It took him almost four overs before he could get his first boundary of the day that came against Kemar Roach courtesy a solid flick.
It was the 90th over when he eventually equalled the iconic Sir Donald Bradman with his 29th Test century, a ton that also wiped out his 5-year wait of another international century away from home.
He brought it up with an exquisite square drive, giving the cherry the full blast of the bat’s face as it trickled through the point region for a boundary. The timing was so enthralling that it didn’t really matter whether the outfield was slow or not because Kohli had already bagged his prize, the moment the ball hit his willow.
