Watch – Joshua Da Silva’s mother sheds tears of joy after meeting Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli is one figure in international cricket who is adored and respected all around the globe. Irrespective of the nationality of folks, the colours that they don, the rivalry that they share, on or off the field, it is all about smiles, adulation and love for the Indian run-machine.
In such a moment of pure joy, bliss and unreserved love, West Indies wicket-keeper Joshua Da Silva’s mum shed tears of joy when she got to meet Kohli. The Caribbean wicket-keeper has been doing a fine job of guarding the stumps for the hosts in the series and he is being deemed as a rising talent in the ranks of Windies cricket.
Joshua affected four dismissals against India in the first innings of the second Test as his razor-sharp glovework saw Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, Ishan Kishan and Jaydev Unadkat falling victim. However, that did very little to deter the Indian spirits as Kohli’s century, laced with fifties from Jadeja and Ashwin did place India on the right track.
At the end of day’s play, while heading towards the team bus, Virat was seen being approached by da Silva’s mum as the two hugged each other out and shared the frame with a broad smile and a gesture of acknowledgement.
Earlier, there were multiple clippings which captured Da Silva telling Virat how big a fan of his the Caribbean star's mum is, with the 'keeper even saying that his mother was coming to the ground only to watch the Indian star bat.
Later, after the meeting, Joshua’s mum said with misty eyes that Kohli is a wonderful player and has been one of the finest that she has ever come across. You can watch the video of Virat hugging it out with Joshua’s mum here:
