Former India cricketer and Uttarakhand’s newly appointed coach Wasim Jaffer thinks that Virat Kohli is the best white-ball cricketer. Jaffer’s choice was revealed during an interview with CricTracker where he was asked to choose between Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for the best white ball cricketer.

While Sachin Tendulkar continues to hold the majority of records in ODIs, Virat Kohli’s track record has been phenomenal.

The India captain has scored 43 ODI hundreds so far in 248 matches and is just seven shy of Sachin’s 49 tons in 463 games.

On the other hand, Rohit Sharma, who scored five centuries in last year’s world cup, has been covering a lot of ground as far as records are concerned. Only cricketer with three double hundreds to his name, Rohit has scored 29 hundreds in 224 ODIs.

Recently former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan also said that Kohli can achieve the feat of 100 hundreds if he plays for as long as Sachin did.

Looking at Virat’s fitness level and his hunger for runs, there are not many who will argue against Pathan’s logic.

Jaffer, who played 31 Tests and two ODIs, also picked his favourite batting partner in Virender Sehwag.

“It has to be Virender Sehwag, purely because he was entertaining,” Jaffer said.
